Really good piece, and some superb examples of how that ambiguity can have such impact on the right story and in the hands of good storytellers.

Another beautifully ambiguous ending, I think, can be found in The Graduate. The subtlest of mood shifts just as the credits begin to roll is just the perfect way to leave the story.
